I received the package with the cookies and the Soldiers loved them.
We appreciate everything we get from friends and Family back home but when it comes from citizens of this great country who just want to show the Soldiers that they are not forgotten, even though they are thousands of miles away, it is something special.
We thank you and the Yellow Ribbon Club for taking some time out of your day to ensure a
Soldier feels like he is back home, even if just for a brief period; the feeling is priceless.
A special thanks to Julia, a student at Marlton Middle School in New Jersey, for writing such a wonderful letter to the troops.

Hello Yellow Ribbon Club from New Jersey,
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you very much for the package that we received for our office.
We are blessed to have Americans such as you who support the Service members, DoD Civilian, Contractors and our Interpreters that are here in Afghanistan.
You do not have to do what you do but you chose to do it anyway despite the crumbling economic situations in the US.
Thank you very much for your support and may the Lord continue to bless you!
Thank you very much and have a wonderful day!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Yellow Ribbon Club of Marlton, NJ:
Thank you very much for sending me and my Soldiers the care packages filled with homemade cookies.
They really made my month! And I know that all the Soldiers enjoyed them just as much as I did.
It is amazing how much support we have and it makes me feel truly blessed by God to be an American.
I really cannot express the amount of gratitude that I feel for your club. You are certainly amazing people.
Thanks, again for your support and love.

Hello,
I would just to take a say thank you from me and my boys out here for all the cookies. And some of my gym rat buddies want to say a second thanks for ruining their diets haha.
Is there anyway you could get a hold of an email address from one of the teachers that run the club who sent out a lot of the cookies and the letter, we also want to personally thank them too.

Hi Ms. Drummond:
Well Ma’am – I got another box of cookies. Holy moly! I’ve never seen so many cookies. We essentially devoured the homemade ones and the pre-packaged ones went to the USO, as I know the guys there will eat them with earnest (and possibly take them on missions, etc). Thank you so very much again. I apologize for the short email, but we’re pretty busy out here. Thanks again – I heard my mother met someone at the church when she dropped off cookies for the cookie drive. I hope to meet you all when I return.
Thanks again.

Dear Friends at the Yellow Ribbon Club;
Thank you so very much for the 3rd care package I recently received. This one contained a lot of good things to eat – mostly homemade cookies! Thank you very much for continuing to think of me and the service members deployed afar. It means so very much. The cookies are being enjoyed. I hope to be able to meet some of the kind people that are a part of this organization, when I return in 2012.
Thanks again.

Greetings Yellow Ribbon Club,
I wanted to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to your organization once again. I was part of a Shock Trauma Platoon in Afghanistan recently and received many packages from you, for which I, along with dozens of Marines and Sailors, were very thankful for. I contact you again to say how much I appreciate what you do- more so now because last night, I got the surprise of my life when Warrior's Watch, our local VFW 3020, and Yellow Ribbon Club, showed up on my mother's doorstep to welcome me home from Afghanistan. It brought tears to my eyes and made me realize how much more love and support there is out there for the troops, because I saw it first hand. Thank you for making my first trip home in a year a memorable on. I will forever be grateful.

Dear Ms. Drummond:
Thank you so much for my 2nd wonderful care package from the Yellow Ribbon Club. The box was huge – amazing – and totally unexpected. The items are wonderful, everything arrived in great condition and nothing will go to waste. I’ll take a little of what I need, the rest will be given to my dental corpsmen and anything leftover will be given to the USO (where it won’t last long !)
Please thank whatever group or groups of people contributed. Last time it was put together by a Physics laboratory in Philly, but this time there is no mention of anyone specific.
My Sincerest Thanks. God Bless you and everyone (and their families) involved in the Marlton Yellow Ribbon Club.

Dear Ms. Drummond:
Thank you so much for the wonderful package I received from the Marlton Yellow Ribbon Club. It was a huge package and a total surprise. I know my mother (Marge Arthur) and sister (Debra) are members, but I had no idea such an array of useful items was on its way. I will also email Mr. Tom Grubb, of the JHUAPL. The generosity of his lab really touched us all. We sincerely appreciate your organization’s compassion (I loved the opening line – “Hello from New Jersey”).
I took some of the items for myself and the rest were distributed to my medical corpsman. There were still a TON left over, so I will be taking it to the USO here on Camp Leatherneck – Nothing will go to waste.
Thanks again for your utmost generosity. It is a pleasure to serve here as a dentist, taking care of these brave young marines and sailors. Thank you again and God Bless.

Dear Yellow Ribbon Club and Shop Rite,
My name is SSgt Joshua Levine, and I am a (very grateful) U.S. Marine who recently received a rather large, bountiful box of small food stuffs, snacks, and hygiene products – all in the name of your very ardent support.
I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you all very much for your support and patriotism, as it means a lot us all to get anything from home while we’re out here. Your box has so much to offer, and had the guys all cheering as I handed out each item.
You might be wondering just who received your box, and where it has landed. Well, we are Marines from 3rd Battalion, Second Marines (3/2), India Co, out of Camp Lejeune, NC, currently working in Northern Musa Qal’ah District, Helmand Province, AFG (you might have heard of us, as actress Mila Kunis has been all over the news saying she’s coming to the Marine Corps Ball with one of 3/2’s Marines…or so we hear from time to time).
Right now, I am typing from inside a cave, as it helps to stay underground while not on patrol to avoid the 120-plus degree heat of the Afghan summer.
The terrain around us is fairly unforgiving, as we’re at the base of several mountains, at the edge of a wide expanse of desert.
Some of the people are very friendly, others questionable, and some very “unfriendly” (that would be the Taliban). We have been here since the early months of 2011, and are due to rotate home soon. In the back of our minds we are all very anxious to get home to our families – several guys in particular, as they’ve had babies born while gone. One Marine, who’s from NJ, had twins just a few months back. Still, before we leave, there is a lot of work left to be done, and we remain focused on the day-to-day tasks to keep everyone safe.
I should get back to things here, but again, we are deeply appreciative of your kindness. It’s the people like you that really keep us going out here, and given the opportunity, I’m sure each of the Marines here would thank you personally.
On behalf of the Marines of India Co, 3/2, heartfelt regards,
SSgt Joshua Levine

Everyone,
I would like to thank everyone that had anything and everything to do with the care packages that were sent to me and the members of my unit.
I was told by one of the NCOs that I had a large box in the mail room
and I was surprised.... I had no idea where this box came from- wasn't
anticipating anything from my family members. There were so many food
and personal hygiene items, that I was able to share with the personnel
in my office. Once again, thank you and God Bless.

Leslie,
I just want to thank you and your team for your kindness and generosity. It's people like you and your team that get us through the hard times here. You take time and money to support people you don't even know. That is truly a blessing and I know you will receive your blessings 10 times in full. We have many Soldiers here that are very quiet and never ask for nothing. Being that we are in charge of the mail we see who gets mail and who doesn't. When care packages come in it's like a light that comes on in a dim room. I am fortunate to get to see what you do for them. I will try to be more mindful in the future to make sure we send photos back to you. May God bless you and your team. When you get a chance and if you have face book please check us out. 101st Brigade Troops Battalion Sustainers.

Dear Leslie:
Please extend our sincerest Thanks for the homemade and Girl Scout cookies we just received this week. They are disappearing fast, and have brought many smiles to all who have tasted them.
It was so very nice that everyone keeps us in mind, and whenever a box has come in, it
has always brought numbers of us together to peer down into the treasure you all have made arrangements to ship to us. Each one is a moment away from the long days and many efforts that all are doing as duty here in Afghanistan.
Thanks ever so much for your continued friendship and kindness from all your many contributors.

Good evening,
The other day I received two care packages from you and wanted to send my thanks...that was SOOO nice of you! I was running low on so many toiletries so it couldn't have arrived at a better time. I also shared the goodies with everyone in my office...which made everyone elated because they were all needing toiletries as our BX is very small and doesn't have the toiletries we want/need...so the care packages made the day for a number of people in my office (a mix of all branches).
Thank you for your kindness.

Hello my name is SGT Robert Keating.
I just received a care package from the yellow ribbon club.
I have to say that the package was awesome.
I shared just about all items with my Soldiers; it went pretty far being there are 16 of the grease monkeys. It brightened their day since it’s been pretty cold and rainy for the past few days, and us being mechanics we have to work on the vehicles outside in the wet, cold, and mud no matter what! So it made me feel even better making them happy after I was made happy by getting this package from you. But by far the best part about the package that I noticed is that it was sent out from Marlton, with me being from Atco it felt as if it came from home!!
Well with all that being said, I have one question/favor to ask. I don’t know how often you send out packages or what your process is, but my section (automotive/motor pool) always seems to be forgotten and left out when our unit gets care packages. We are forgotten for the most part because our motor pool is a good distance away from everyone and we work all day (15hr days since we've gotten here in October). Anything that would be able to sent out, so I can pull them from working for a few minutes and let them dig through a box of goodies would be really awesome and appreciated, mainly from them since they are by far the hardest worked and being such a small crew.
Thank you so much again, and it really means a lot when people back home show their support for us.
THANK YOU!!
And thank you for all the people who donated the goods for the packages.

Thank you very much for the two HUGE boxes you sent.
I was very surprised to receive the goodies inside.
This isn't the first time I have been deployed, but this is the first time I have received so many needed things from people other then family.
I brought the boxes to our briefing room and my shift dove right in and ransacked the boxes. They were all very grateful.
I can't thank you enough for the boxes and the cards. It is nice to see people still care about us over here.
Thanks again for the support,

I wanted to pass my thanks to the Marlton, NJ community that passed such generous contributions to the soldiers, sailors and airmen here.
Everything sent was a hit both among those of us serving and some in the Afghan community.
It was a wonderful surprise and a real morale booster.

Dear Leslie & All Members of the Yellow Ribbon Club:
I want to extend my deep appreciation, thanks and praise for you all in what you have done for so many here over this past year.
You may sometimes wonder if all the efforts are reaching those intended, and I can assure you that they are.
The many items received here are greater than our small group could or would be able to fully utilize, and so we quickly put them into the hands of those less fortunate that have greater needs than our own.
We have taken many of the boxes down to our new USO building they just constructed and they put all the items out onto the shelves for some of the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines. We also arranged to bring most of the wonderful cookies out to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Wilson, which were distributed among the hundreds of soldiers there which, like most FOB's and the smaller COP's (Company Out Posts) receive fewer
distributions than here at our large airbase, which has over 20,000 personnel working around the clock.
Every time a soldier finds something you have sent which they need and would otherwise have to buy or do without, it brings and immediate smile, and a sudden happiness like a treasure has been found. They may not always get to know who gave it to them, or how it came to be on the shelf in front of them for them to receive free, but it is always appreciated, and often many items are further opened and shared among their friends and unit which makes them disappear soon after opening.
I want you to know that we would all be too fat if we did not regulate how much we consume from all that we have been receiving, and since there is little enough space, there is no place to hoard, which prevents us from feeling like we have to squirrel things away.
If you can get a moment to let me know how many active members you have in the club, and could you let me know how many are women and how many are men, since meeting those of you that were available, may not be everyone. My interest in asking is so that we here can come up with an appropriate way of saying Thanks to all of you for all you have done.
May you and your families enjoy a well deserved Merry Christmas.
I'll look forward to hearing back from you by email as time permits.

Good evening from Bagram, Afghanistan-
I just received your box of cookies. I can't say how much it means to
us out here when we receive things in the mail, especially things we can eat (the food out here isn't all that bad, but you can't beat homemade cookies). I've already tore through a lot of them, and my
fellow Soldiers out here are eating them up as well.
Thank you so much for your support and your thoughts and prayers.
It's very moving and satisfying to know that people at home have us in
their hearts and minds.
Again, thank you so much for keeping us in mind. Please let everyone

Mrs. Drummond and all Yellow Ribbon Club Members,
I am 2LT Evan Leitch of the 20th Engineer Battalion currently deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan.
I have been receiving packages from your organization for the better part of a year now and finally found a good contact address to write you a thank you.
Me and the men that I lead are truly appreciative of all the hard work you have put into this endeavor, few things brighten a soldier up out here faster than a big package of things that they need and use. Besides that, just having someone remember that you are here and care enough about you to send help in any form, it's why we all come over here gladly.
From the bottom of my heart and on the behalf of my men thank you for what you are doing for us and for the rest of the military, I only wish that I could repay you all with something more substantial than a letter.
God Bless you all.

Good Evening!!!
I would just like to thank you on behalf of the Combat Logistics Battalion Two Headquarters and Support Company Communications Shop.
Your care packages have boosted the morale and well being of every single marine in our shop.
We received foam rollers for our racks, and tons of goodies and hygiene gear. A good night’s sleep is hard enough to come by back in the states, and when you come to a combat zone like Afghanistan it becomes darn near impossible. Not only has everyone in our shop (and several marines and sailors in other sections that were lucky enough to get extras) seen improved sleep quality, but our beds are now the hang out spot when we are off work.
The second care package our unit received from your organization was filled with tons of hygiene gear and other assorted goodies. We were running a bit low on such items as foot/body powder, toothbrushes, shaving cream and soap, so this really came in handy.
I appreciate everything that you have done to help our shop just as much if not more as the rest of the marines here deployed with me.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
LCpl Sebastian Urrata

I wanted to thank you all very much for the package you sent me here in Afghanistan.
Believe it or not this is my 4th deployment to Afghanistan and this is the first care package I have received from a group of people I don't know.
I do what I do over here because of Patriots like all of you.
The snacks were great. All of my Soldiers ate them and enjoyed them very much. All the toiletries were first given to my Soldiers, then the rest of it was donated to the TBI clinic. It is a place we put wounded Soldiers to rest before they go back out into the fight.
Once again thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I would like to extend my thanks to you and your organization for the
wonderful care packages you all sent to the Soldiers here in

You would be amazed at how much joy it brought to the Soldiers.
I wish you could see their smiling faces as they were rambling through the boxes.
Each item you placed in the box will most definitely be put to good use.
We are grateful for organizations like yours, it
make us very proud and honored to serve our nation.
Thanks once again and God bless you all for your support!!!

Greetings to our great American Soldier supporters!
On behalf of the 86th Mountain Combat Infantry Brigade, working out of Bagram Afghanistan, I would like to extend our greatest appreciation for your thoughtfulness and tremendous generosity. I can't tell you how much we appreciate receiving such a heartfelt gift from back home. When I brought in the three huge boxes of goodies, the expression on everyone's faces was priceless. You think we won the lottery. The least I could do is write a note of appreciation to all of you, thanking you for going out of your way and sending us these great care packages.
I am proud to say my wife and I are from South New Jersey, where I look forward to returning soon after my tour.
I truly believe a kind act never goes unrewarded. I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and kindness! It means a great deal to us to know you support us as American Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors as well as our families...who I believe make the greater sacrifice.
Thank you for making a difference for the better in our lives today!
So from all of us in the 86th IBCT (MTN) and all of our families....Thank You!
Special Thanks to Leslie Drummond for all your hard work and volunteered service!

Just wanted to thank you again for all the support, on behalf of my section and the Whole Platoon.
The packages that come from your organization really help. They are actually things that we want to use, and eat everything from snacks to the health and beauty items for our female soldiers. It’s stuff that they really use.
It’s such a morale booster when Spc. Miller receives these packages, because he immediately gives everyone a “heads up” and shares the packages with his fellow soldiers
I have written before and promised a platoon picture and I wanted to make sure that I delivered on my promise.
Once again thank you for all the help and support. It really does mean a lot, and helps our soldiers to see that people care.

To the members ofthe Yellow Ribbon Club,
On behalf of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines of the 82ND Sustainment Brigade and the Defense Logistics Agency Support Team, Afghanistan, I would like to thank you for the care package.
We are all away from our families and it makes us all feel much closer to them when we receive special treats and needed personal items from back in the United States. Every day, many brave men and women venture out to assist the people of Afghanistan in establishing a peaceful and stable country where they can have a better life and where their children can go to school, learn, and play. Your support, thoughts, and prayers make that job easier.
Although no one wants peace more than the soldiers that must fight, we are all happy to be here and would gladly give our lives to ensure our own families and yours can be safe. Again, thank you very much for your kind gifts.

Hello, my name is Christian Zerfing. I am 31 years old, from Berlin and have only been in the Navy for 6 months aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Recently I have been receiving packages from you guys and it is greatly appreciated. Every package you guys send I share it with different divisions on board especially the flight deck. We work extremely hard up there. I noticed today that more packages came addressed to some of my fellow shipmates and I have encouraged them to share as well.
I left a very well paying job in the auto industry and two kids when I decided to join. My intent was to do something I can be proud of and serve a purpose. So far it has been quite a life changing experience. Until you give them up you really don’t realize how many simple freedoms you take for granted on a daily basis.
I just wanted you to know that your packages bring many smiles to many sailors aboard the “IKE”.
Thank you.

To Leslie and everyone at the Yellow Ribbon Club in Marlton, NJ:
We received two wonderful boxes from the Yellow Ribbon Club last night.
I have been here for approximately 7 months and these are some of the
most thoughtful care packages I have ever received! I immediately
shared them with my US ARMY colleagues, the ESPN shirts were scooped up
in under 5 seconds, the towels and socks followed suit shortly
thereafter. As for the snacks, the toiletries, hand warmers, Pearl Jam
CDs, and games - absolutely nothing will go to waste. You made our day!
Thank you thank you thank you!

Dear Sirs/Maams,
My name is Chris Prombo and I work for the Science Applications International Corporation as a computer programmer.
I deployed from St. Louis to Iraq, arriving on 25 Jan. Upon arrival I found out that none of my personal items had arrived yet, even though I had sent them on 09 Jan from my hometown post office. The only personal items I arrived with were in a single backpack. When I saw that the care package that you had sent contained a 3-pack of socks, I thought "what a godsend".
Thank you for being so thoughtful and may God bless you!

Your foundation sent us care packages on behalf of a soldier under me STEVE MILLER.
Being the soldier he has always been, he shares his wealth and we split up all the goodies that were sent. Thank you. All of them were used and someone was always in need of at least something in those boxes.
A lot of my guys don't always have the time to write back or the access, but as the motor Sergeant I'm taking my time to thank you from the very bottom of our hearts.

Hello Leslie,
My name is Jason Gall and I wanted to email you and thank you for everything you have sent me and my platoon throughout the deployment.
All the cookies were delicious as well as all the other treats that came with them.
I would also like you to thank everyone else if possible, who helped out in sending all the treats, as I know it was a lot and required a lot of time and dedication.
We are winding down in operations in Iraq but unfortunately will not be home for the holiday season.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year, and hope to meet you and thank you personally upon my arrival back to New Jersey.
On behalf of me and my entire unit I'd like to say thanks again for all your support throughout the deployment.
Best wishes,

P.S. attached is a picture we took after opening some of the packages, and an Iraq flag we all signed just recently :)

Hello:
Just wanted to thank you on behalf of my son-in-law, Lt. Col. Joseph Veit, in Camp Sather, Baghdad. He has received many cookies from the Yellow Ribbon Club and shared everything with his command. He also has just received pink packages for the ladies. Everyone is so appreciative. Thank you so much.
Since Joe will be leaving this month, he would appreciate it if there are more packages to be sent, to please forward them on to other groups. Camp Sather is an area that has items more available than others who might be not be able to readily obtain them.
Thank you again to all at the Yellow Ribbon Club who has put forth their time, effort and money. Everything is greatly appreciated.

Leslie et all,
Thank you for the support.
Your generosity and caring for us deployed is truly appreciated.
Three of your packages have arrived at Headquarters, International Assistance Force, Kabul, Afghanistan.
They have been extremely well received and used by both U.S. Military personnel and ISAF/NATO military partners from Great Britain, German, The Netherlands, Belgium and Norway.
We appreciate that there are individuals back home who are willing to donate their time and money to give us the simple things that are, at times, impossible to get here.
Please extend our appreciation to the children of Richard Rice Elementary School for their time and letters, since I know they had to miss class for assist.
I know in the case of my daughter, she was "mad" she had to skip math so she could help pack the boxes, but I think she got over it.
Thank you again and Happy Holidays,
Respectfully,

Mrs. Drummond (and everyone else involved in the Yellow Ribbon Club),
Thank you so much for everything that you have sent out.
The holiday greetings from the Githens School, the homemade cookies, even some sweats for the cold weather that recently arrived, everything was such a great treat for all of us over here.
We appreciate all the work that you are doing at home to show us your support.
You may be thanking us for our service, but thank you for all of the support that you give to all of the military, some may not think it but it means a lot.
I set all of the cookies out for our entire company to pick at and enjoy and so far I've heard nothing but good things.
Thank you again for all that you are doing for us back in the states.
We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.
Thank you again and God Bless you all.

Dear Ms. Drummond,
Thank you for the 35 pound box of homemade cookies that I received today.
I made sure that all the Marines in the area had some delivered to their work areas. There were a lot of cookies to go around.
I am located near the Air Terminal where troops fly in and out of Al Asad as they travel to the different bases here in Iraq, and I put plenty of cookies at the waiting area this afternoon.
The cookies were consumed in record time by personnel heading
out to the Forward Operating Bases.
If you have contact with the Girl Scout Troops that worked hard to bake the
cookies, please extend to them our sincere thanks, as well as the other fine
folks who spent so much time to bake for us.
Please let your staff know that the kindness your organization displays is
very much appreciated and goes a long way toward maintaining morale during a
long deployment.
Again, thank you for your support.

Dear Leslie,
I would like to thank you so much for all you do for the families and returning soldiers. The welcome home for my daughter, Deanna was without a doubt more than I ever imagined. She was overwhelmed to say the least. As were we all.
Your network is like a well-oiled machine. It is amazing how so many people came together for this day. I am eternally grateful to you and the entire Yellow Ribbon Club, and the Warrior Watch. Please pass on my feelings and gratitude to all who helped make her homecoming the great time it was.
Please let me know how I may become part of this wonderful organization. You truly have provided a vehicle for our community to come together at a time of uncertainty and hardship. It was heartwarming to see how many people turned out and the feelings of camaraderie expressed that day proved we are still a great nation. It would do our country and people good to carry this unity throughout our government.
Again, thank you for you and everyone involved who shows tireless efforts supporting our soldiers, and recognizing the sacrifice families make for this great country.

Hello Ms Leslie,
Thank you for sending the package and thinking about us. My team and I enjoyed using the content that was in the package. I am scheduled to leave here in October 2009. In order for us to do this we have to live on their compound. Once again thank you and your supporting cast.

Ms. Drummond,
I am writing to let you know that our unit received 2 boxes of cookies from the Yellow Ribbon Club. As a former enlisted Soldier and now an officer, I know how much packages from home like this mean to our service members.
We have already distributed many of the bags of cookies to the Soldiers here in Baghdad and to our interagency partners from the State Department. They are being scarfed-up at a rapid pace! We are so thankful for citizens like you and the organizations that you foster to take care of us.
I grew up in Marlton (Woodstream - first 18 years of my life), so it's nice to see that something good for the Soldiers came out of my hometown. I have 2 sisters and a brother who still live there with their families. My other brother lives in South Philly as well as my in-laws who all live in NE Philly, so we're a real local crew. Once again your organization has provided wonderfully uplifting goody boxes on behalf of your club. It is truly a welcome site when these boxes arrive and my team greatly enjoys our free moments of checking out what was sent from home.
